Made in Manhattan by Lauren Layne

When Violet lost her parents, she moved in with her grandmother and befriended her grandmother's friend, Edith.

Edith became her surrogate grandmother when hers passed on.

When Edith is ready to retire, she's set out to find out if there are any direct descendants of her family, to pass along the business too and up turns Cain - her late son Adam's son - which no one knew about.

Cain comes to Manhattan from Louisiana and Edith tasks Violet into helping him prepare to take over the company.

Cain is so good looking you just know that Violet isn't going to be able to keep her feelings at bay, especially as she's dating a real dud, Keith - who is also up for taking over the company.

Violet and Cain start spending a lot of time together, feelings develop but they don't voice them until an impromptu trip to Louisiana, where Mardi Gras happens to be taking place and well, what happens at Mardi Gras, stays at Mardi Gras.... Or does it.

They fly back to NYC, where Cain is to be interviewed by all board members to see if he's fit to rule to company, which he promptly declines after they choose him - he wants to start at the bottom and work his way up.

He wants Violet... And Violet wants him..

I couldn't put this book down, it truly hooked from the beginning. Lauren Layne is becoming one of my go to authors on new release day!!
