The starts out with story of the land in Texas in the 1920’s and how 2 people’s lives change with one night.
Morphing into the 1930’s and their life together with his family.
People are out of work and losing everything.
Rafe wants to go to California to better their life, Elsa the more sensible of the 2 knows they won’t make it as they’re so poor they’re improperly dressed.
Rafe takes matters into his own hands.
Eventually, Elsa and the kids end up in California with a twist ending.
It is all about the Great American Dream.
