Kenna had a bad go of it from the beginning of her life. Her mother was a single mother and not a good one, one that just didn’t care.
She got into an accident with her boyfriend and due to the circumstances she left him, thought he was dead and went to get help.
She passed out, most likely due to her injuries as well as the substances she was on.
When she came to, she realized he wasn’t dead, he made it through the accident and ended up passing away shortly after that.
She was put on trial, very unemotional due to the heavy stress of the accident and the love she shared with her boyfriend and ended up in prison only to find out she was pregnant with their daughter.
Diem was born in prison and then handed over to his family. She did her time and paid her price and when she got out, she had 1 goal - see, meet, be with Diem.
However Diem’s family wasn’t going to allow that to happen. Enter Ledger, whom Kenna meets on day 1 in the town, he knows of her but doesn’t recognize her at first. She knew of him but had forgotten due to not meeting him prior to the accident.
The rest of the story plays out in their relationship and how he tries not to fall for his best friends ex, while being there for Diem and her family and trying to keep Kenna away because she’s bad. But Kenna tells the real story and Ledger begins to come around
