Rachel knew Jacob at summer camp and they were enemies
Jacob believes Rachel stood him up for the dance and also when he really needed her
Jacob is hosting the Greatest Matzah Ball every and Rachel offers to volunteer however doesn't tell him that she has an illness that forces her to take breaks and sends her to bed for days.
He's trying to get back at her so he forces her to do the hardest, tedious jobs he has, until he finds out about the illness and then he tries to make up for it.
