Laura lives in a trailer in SC, where she dates Cole. They just found out they're having a baby
Cole's dad, who's on the road to be a senator, is not having his son marry Laura. He wants him to make something of himself and follow in his footsteps on the political realm - however he has musical dreams
On the way to their doctor appointment to see their baby for the first time, Laura and Cole are in an accident. Cole is just banged up, Laura's mom is killed instantly and Laura loses the baby as well as her memory. Cole's dad gets his sister, Aunt Helen to pretend to be Laura's aunt and moves her across the country.
Laura realizes she has a knack for writing songs, she just doesn't want to preform them. She heads for Nashville, where they get her preforming and she becomes the new thing.
Cole is also headed for Nashville, to compete on a reality show.
He and Laura run into each other, he remembers, she does not
Dylan, one of Laura's bandmates proposes to her, she accepts unwillingly, and he becomes possessive, they break up
